Mission Brief

About Air Mission Assist

Who we are, why we publish travel disruption guides, how we research them, and what we deliberately do not do.

Why this site exists

Travel advice is easy to find when everything is going well. It becomes very hard to find at midnight, in an airport, when a flight has been cancelled and the queue is two hundred people long. That gap is what Air Mission Assist was built to fill.

Every guide on this site is written for someone reading it on a phone, under stress, with limited battery. That constraint shapes everything: short paragraphs, ordered steps, the time critical action first, and a checklist you can work through without reading the whole page.

How we research and write

We work from published airline and airport policies, passenger rights frameworks, consular guidance, and the practical experience of frequent travellers who have been through these situations. Where practice differs from policy, we say so, because knowing what usually happens at a desk is often more useful than knowing what a regulation says.

Guides are reviewed when rules change, when readers tell us something no longer matches reality, and on a regular schedule. We currently maintain 36 guides across flight problems, baggage, airports, documents, accommodation, transport, layovers, destinations and preparation tools.

What we do not do

We are not an airline, a travel agency, an insurer, a claims company or a law firm. We do not sell tickets, we do not file claims on your behalf, and we do not take a percentage of anything you recover. We also do not promise outcomes. Airlines and authorities make their own decisions, and any guide that pretends otherwise is selling you something.

Our guides are general information, not legal, medical or financial advice. For a situation involving injury, arrest, serious loss or a legal deadline, contact the relevant professional or your embassy directly.

Editorial independence

We do not accept payment from airlines, airports, hotels or insurers in exchange for coverage or recommendations. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed clearly on the page in question rather than buried in a policy.

Corrections

If something on this site is wrong, out of date, or unclear, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it. Reader corrections are the fastest way this site improves, and we treat them seriously.
